    This 16-hour program meets all Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) requirements for Armed Security Guard licensing. It builds upon unarmed certification and introduces advanced firearm handling, judgment, and legal responsibilities for professional carry.

    You’ll learn:

    • ⚖️ Arizona laws on use of deadly force and firearm carry

    • 🔫 Firearms safety, handling, and range discipline

    • 🎯 Range qualification and marksmanship fundamentals

    • 🧠 Judgmental shooting and threat assessment

    • 📝 Legal reporting and post-incident protocols

    ✅ Requirements

    • Must be 21 years or older

    • Valid AZ Unarmed Guard Card (current or pending)

    • Government-issued photo ID

    • Pass DPS background check

    • Complete firearms qualification course

    • No felony or disqualifying convictions

    🔧 Note: Firearm, holster, and gear required for live fire. Rentals available through ASCEND upon request.

    🏅 Certification

    Students must pass both the written and range qualification exams to receive the Armed Guard Certificate, required for DPS submission.

    Get certified and launch your career in private security!

    🔍 Training Overview

    This 8-hour course is approved by the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) and is required for anyone seeking an Unarmed Security Guard License (Guard Card).

    You’ll learn:

    • ⚖️ Arizona law and use-of-force standards

    • 🛡️ Core security guard duties and responsibilities

    • 🤝 Ethics, public relations, and communication skills

    • 🚨 Emergency response and incident management

    • 📝 Documentation, reporting, and professional conduct

    ✅ Requirements

    To enroll, participants must:

    • Be 18 years or older

    • Provide a valid government-issued photo ID

    • Have no felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history

    • Possess legal authorization to work in the U.S.

    • Complete the DPS application and fingerprint submission

    Upon completion, students will receive testing and certification documentation required for DPS submission.
