Arizona Unarmed Security Guard Training & Certification

Training Overview

This 8-hour course is required by the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) for individuals seeking to obtain an Unarmed Security Guard License (Guard Card).

  • Arizona law and use-of-force standards
  • Basic security guard responsibilities
  • Ethics, public relations, and communication skills
  • Emergency response protocols
  • Documentation and reporting

Completion of the course includes the required testing and certification documentation for submission to DPS.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid government-issued photo ID
  • No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
  • Legal right to work in the United States
  • Completed DPS application and fingerprint submission
